Full-stack developer working on various client projects, primarily working with Equiniti & Canada Life on their web pensions platform for Independent Financial Advisers (IFAs).
Primarily utilising C# ASP.NET Core WebAPI following TDD practices in a Microservice architecture and Angular 7+ with modern DevOps tools including Git, Microsoft Azure DevOps and Octopus Deploy. Working under Agile Scrum working practices utilising Atlassian Jira.
During my time working on the Equiniti project I have been awarded with the 'Buzz Lightyear' award by the Development Lead, Adam Tyson, for being recognised for the speed of which I became familiar with the complex codebase to the point of demonstrating changes to the client.
Developer, East Kilbride, Scotland, November 2017 - June 2019
I entered the business as a winter intern and after impressing management & my colleagues I was swiftly hired as a full-time developer.
At times I was asked to do backend development, primarily integrating supplier XML/JSON APIs into the search & booking engine developed with Perl. This was version controlled using Subversion (SVN).
I collaborated heavily with both internal & external customers providing support through our internal Jira installation & also in-person with project management and support (Customer Success) teams.
During my time at Traveltek I was awarded with a 'Club Elite' award, representing myself as one of the top 10 best performing employees in the business voted by my peers & colleagues.
Developer, Hillington Head Office, Scotland, May 2016 - 2017
I worked at Arnold Clark, one of Europe's biggest car dealerships on a summer internship & part-time basis alongside University as part of the company's 'Digital Product Development' team. I worked on various web applications within the company including their flagship website and car sales system. The web applications I worked on mainly utilised Ruby on Rails and React. I learnt how to work in an agile environment and learned proper test driven development (TDD) practises.
Developer, Freelance/Work From Home, November 2015 - No longer ongoing due to COVID
I was hired on a freelance basis to build a live & on-demand video streaming platform for use by corporate clients including the Scottish Ambulance Service and NHS Scotland. I built the platform, replacing a legacy ASP.NET WebForms & Flash based solution, using Ruby on Rails with React with Wowza Media Server. This has enabled the business to effortlessly stream video content to a wide array of devices including Desktops, Smartphones and Tablets.
